8 Ways to Fall Asleep Faster

If you are anything like me, the second you hop into bed your mind starts racing and the last thing your mind wants to do is fall asleep! Well today I am going to share with you some of the best ways to fall asleep faster:

  1. Brain dump: When your mind is racing and you can’t seem to turn it off, grab a piece of paper and write down everything that is on your mind. This way you can relax and not worry about forgetting things. Save it all for tomorrow when you can actually work on it instead of just laying in bed stressing about it!

  2. Make sure you are moving your body throughout the day. Getting a workout in is very important, but if you have trouble falling asleep at night try getting your workout in in the morning or afternoon.

  3. Avoid caffeine and sugar before bed: you don’t want to get a high when you are trying to fall asleep.

  4. Develop a nighttime routine: a nighttime routine can help your body relax and prepare to fall asleep.

  5. Turn the screens off: I know you have heard this before, but it is important if you are wanting to fall asleep faster! Stay away from any screens AT LEAST an hour before you go to bed.

  6. Don’t clock watch: Instead of focusing on how many hours of sleep you are getting, focus on how you feel. Your body knows when it’s rested and when it isn’t, so listen to it!

  7. Don’t lose sleep over losing sleep: “I fall asleep now I’ll get 7 hours of sleep…if I fall asleep now I’ll get 6 hours of sleep.” I know we have all been here before, but stressing about sleep will not help you sleep!

  8. Get comfy: make sure you are wearing lose comfortable clothes and add some pillows if you need it.
