Why You Need to Make Your Health a Priority if you Want to be a High Performer

When you are in good health, you will be able to perform at a higher level. If you are in good health you will be able to stay successful instead of burning out. When you look at the most successful high performers, they put their health as a priority on their to do list.

I know you probably don’t want to hear this… but yes, if you want to be a high performer you need to workout, you need to eat a balanced diet, you need to drink plenty of water, and you need to get enough sleep.

Can you be successful without these things? Of course you can. I know tons of successful people that never work out or perform on little to no sleep. BUT, if you want your success to last (if you want to enjoy your life and not burn out), you health HAS TO be a priority.

Your body needs to move. Find a way to workout that you can enjoy. If you don’t enjoy it, it won’t last. Being healthy is a lifestyle and in order to maintain a lifestyle you have to enjoy it. The energy you use to workout will actually help you throughout the day. Most people say they don’t have the energy to workout, but working out is actually how you get more energy!

Food is fuel. And if you are not fueling your body correctly, it will not be able to perform at it’s best. Think of it like this…would you put normal gas into a Ferrari? No. Because you know that if you do that, the car won’t run like it’s supposed to. Well, its the same with your body. Your body is a Ferrari, and the better “fuel” you put into it, the better it will perform. I am definitely NOT a believer in quick fixes or fad diets. I AM a believer in finding a way of eating that works for you, because that is what is going to last.

You need to be drinking half your body weight in ounces of water per day. That’s it. Period. If you want to be a high performer, it’s something you gotta do.

Rest just as hard as you work. Sleep is EVERYTHING. If you have big dreams, you need to have big rest too.

I know that when it coming to striving for success we tend to put ourselves and our health on the back burner because we think that it isn’t as important as the other things that need to get done. However, I PROMISE you that if you make your health a priority in your life success will come so much easier AND it will be there to stay! Having a healthy body will not only help you be a high performer, but it will also help you to enjoy this thing called life.
