Hey babes! I hope this post finds you well!!
Let’s face it…mornings can be tough! If you’re anything like me you sleep to the last minute and end up scrambling to get out the door in time (with little or nothing to eat). Soooo, today let’s talk about 3 ways to help your mornings run more smoothly (and we all know if the morning goes well, the rest of the day will go well too)!
One thing these 3 tips have in common is that ALL include PREPARING!!! Preparing takes work, but it makes it so much easier to make good choices when you are in a time crunch.
Go to bed earlier. Yes, I know you don’t want to hear this, but going to bed earlier makes it so much easier to get up the first time your alarm goes off (not the 5th haha). One way to get to sleep earlier without actually changing what time you go up to your bedroom is putting your phone away right when you get in the bedroom. It is so easy to lay there on your phone and before you know it 45 minutes have passed. Sleep is so important to our health and oftentimes we put it on the back burner. If you start making your sleep a priority, you will see a huge difference in how your mornings run.
Eat a good breakfast. Now, I know this is easier said than done, but there are things you can do the day before to make eating a nutritious breakfast in a hurry easier. You can prep for breakfast the night before by making things like overnight oatmeal or protein pancakes that way you can grab and go in the mornings. I have also found it makes things a lot easier if I have little things to grab like a yogurt or pre-packed bags of fruit to eat with my oatmeal or pancakes.
Ditch the coffee and find a way to move. I’m not saying you need to get up an extra hour and a half earlier to head to the gym every morning. I’m saying spend 5 minutes stretching or foam rolling, 15 minutes doing an at home HIIT or yoga workout, OR if its realistic for you, head to the gym for a lift or cycling class before the kids get it. I’m not saying this is going to be easy. This will probably be the hardest of all, but I promise it will be worth it!! You drink caffeine to wake you up and get you started, but guess what?? Moving your body does the exact same thing!
Nothing great ever comes easy, but if you take time to prepare the night before, it will be so much easier to make those good habits happen, your mornings will run more smoothly, and it will make your whole family happier!
