Hi Babes! Happy Valentines Day! Gosh... I can't believe it's already the middle of February. This year is already flying by!
So, Jon and I have been doing meal prep (for the first time) and I wanted to let you guys know my thoughts on how it has gone for us. Overall it has gone really well! When I was making all of the meals I think I had a different idea of how it was going to go. I made meals thinking that we were going to have them for lunch and dinner everyday, but that just wasn't realistic for us. It has worked for us to have for dinners during the weekdays because by the time I usually get home from work it's 8 pm and it's hard to want to make something healthy then. Having the meals ready to go in two minutes has made a huge difference! They are so easy and so delicious. It has also worked for us to prep our snacks as well. We have all of our snacks divided into little baggies that way they are ready to grab and go. Doing these two things has really helped us to eat a lot healthier during the week. I definitely feel like this is something than can be sustainable for us (especially while I am working in the evenings). Having 4-5 dinners a week that are ready to go make eating healthy easy to do.
Now, I know when it comes to nutrition there is no one way that will work for everybody. This is something that works for us and for our crazy schedules. It's not realistic for me to have them for every lunch and dinner, but it is to have them on the days that I work late. It's a lot of work on the first day (when you are making the meals) but it pays off for the rest of the week!
I am so glad this is something we decided to try out because I think it will help us to stay on track easier. Life is all about balance and doing meal prep has helped us balance our nutrition better! Whatever you decide to do, make sure it is something that will be sustainable. Being healthy is about creating a lifestyle that works for you and NOT about finding a quick fix.
I love you all! Thanks for stopping by!
