I recently read about a tragic incident that really hit me and made me realize a lot of things about life. Today I am going to share some of those thoughts with you.
Live in the moment- Make the most out of every situation. Life is precious...don't waste time thinking about the past or worrying about the future. Sometimes cuddling and watching a movie with your family can make the best memories! When you are with people actually be with them! Talk, laugh, cry, make the most of it. We live in a world where going on a date and being on your phone during dinner is normal. PUT DOWN THAT PHONE and actually LIVE!!! Now is all that really matters! You can't do anything to change your past and worrying isn't going to change the future. Be present!
Don't take anything for granted- Every single thing you have is a gift (and it can so easily be taken away). Some of the things you don't even think about (food, water, a place to live, family, health) are really your biggest blessings. Thank God everyday for the things you have been given. Use what you have to help others! You have what you have for a reason...and it's not just to better yourself it's to better others as well. Take advantage of your talents and strong suits...but also work on your weaknesses and make them your strengths! Remember all of the blessings you have and who gave them to you.
Purpose of life- In the world we live in it gets so easy to get caught up in the things of the world...what car you drive, that new outfit you want to purchase, what you wear to the gym, how you do your hair...but the second tragedy hits none of that is important anymore. What is really important is family and faith. One of the things I need to start doing better is thinking about the things that really matter and stop wasting my time on things that don't.
Perspective- I often catch myself thinking if "x" happens (or doesn't happen) it is the end of the world and I am going to flip out! Little things like your spouse folding laundry differently than you, driving not how you drive, or putting the dishes not where you put them tend to make you want to scream...trust me, I have been there many times! And it often ruins my day because then I am mad the whole day about a dish being in the wrong spot (crazy I know, but it's true!! And I know you have been there before!) So after about an hour of being mad I think why the heck am I mad???? It doesn't even matter! I have to stop and think sometimes when I get mad if it is really something worth getting mad about. I have to think about if it matters in the eternal perspective of things... and most the time it doesn't! Since I have started doing that I find myself so much more happy and less stressed!
LIVE- Live your life the the fullest! Take every opportunity you get. Have no regrets. Take those risks. Love. Be the person you want to be. You only have one chance at this life. If you don't follow your dreams you are always going to wonder what could have been.
