Happy Wednesday! I hope this post finds you well!! With it being summer (and even heading into fall) I know we are all super busy (and I don't even have any kids! I don't know how you mama's out there do it!!) Well today I am sharing with you my top 10 snacks that are perfect for being on the go. You can grab them while you are on your way out the door and munch on them when you get hungry later in the day. These are all ideal because they can be prepared the night before (or Sunday nights when you are getting everything ready to go for the week). Here you go:
- Protein bar
- Celery and peanut butter
- Rice cakes
- Baby bell cheese/string cheese
- Carrots and hummus
- Apple slices
- Pre-popped popcorn (low fat, sodium, and sugar)
- Yogurt and fruit
- Banana and nut butter
Some essentials for these snacks include Ziploc baggies, plastic spoons, and plastic portion cups (2-4oz...great for dressings, pb, hummus, etc.)
Well, there you have it! Fruits and veggies are always a go to for me because you just stick them in a baggies and they are good to go! I can't tell you how many times these snacks have saved me from starvation!! haha!
Snacks are my life saver because eating throughout the day helps me to choose healthier options (and good portion sizes) for dinner. When I don't eat after lunch (and I am at work until dinner) I come home and basically eat the entire fridge because I am so dang hungry and don't even care what the heck I eat as long as I don't have to wait another minute being hangry hahah. But when I take snacks with me to work, I come home hungry---not hangry--- and I am patient enough to actually make something healthy for dinner and don't feel the need to stuff myself. I am sure I'm not the only one who feels this way! This is why I find it absolutely essential to snack throughout the day!
