Stretch it out...

Good morning y'all! I hope you are all doing well!  It's Monday morning which means it's another chance to start off the week right, so set some goals and go kick them in the butt!!!

Today I want to talk a little about why stretching is so important and why I include it in my daily routine.  It can literally take me from feeling sluggish and sore in the morning to relaxed and rejuvenated!  I love stretching in the mornings to get my body ready for the day and the gym!  There are so many benefits to stretching - here are a couple of them:

-increases joint mobility and range of motion

-reduces risk of injury

-increases performance

-you are able to move more easily with less pain

-helps with posture

-promotes blood circulation

-reduces soreness

So what should I stretch you may ask??  Well here is a list of the areas that I like to target on a daily basis:

-calves

-quads

-hamstrings

-glutes

-hip flexors (tight hips are very common and can lead to other problems!)

-back

-shoulders

In order to get the best results from stretching try to hold each stretch for a minimum of 30 seconds.  You may not see results right away, but I promise if you start stretching for a couple minutes each day you will notice a huge difference in your daily life!  So since it's Monday make a goal to stretch for five minutes everyday this week and Sunday night take some time to reflect on how you feel and maybe some target areas you need to focus on!  Well, that's it for today, but I hope you all have a fantastic week!!
